My new *baby*

On Friday, July 23rd Mom called me...Kristin had called her and her last kitten had been hit by a car but wasn't dead. Kristin wanted Mom to take her to the vet, but she was busy so she called me. Well, anyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for animals, so I ran right over to Kristin's to find this little grey ball of fur asleep in a towel. I took her down to the Goddard Vetrenary clinic. After an exam Dr. Koster decided to do x-rays, but was sure that her left front leg was crushed. He could splint it, but she would have artharitus so badly she wouldn't be able to use it. We could do reconstructive surgery, but would have the same problem. The third option was to amputate the leg. The doctor assured me that this would be the quickest way to eleviate pain and she would not know that she was missing a leg. Had there been more things wrong, I would have had her put to sleep, but since it was only a crushed arm, I couldn't make myself do it. The next day Dr. Koster called me and said that she came through surgery very well, he had amputated the arm, and everything went well..."OH, AND SHE'S ACTUALLY A HE"!! So I now have two *babies* - Tessa (April 24, 2004) and Tucker (May 20, 2010)!!
